A true Antique

This cabinet/buffet was painted, painted and the painted again, and what do I do strip it!  Every other piece of furniture I buy, I paint...go figure!

I thought that the cabinet would be pine, but only the drawer front panels turned out to be pine.  The rest is oak.  This cabinet is so old all of the panels were nailed with hand made square nails.

The cabinet was just too boring with pine panels so I painted them to match the sides.  I then lightly sanded the drawer fronts for a distressed look and put on new handles.

I like the open surface, so I did not re-install the boxes on top.  I don't think that the boxes were original to the cabinet, they were a different type of wood, and just did not match the cabinet.

The Cabinet is sold

Repurposed Cabinet

$300.
I just completed this china cabinet.  Once again we removed the side panels and made two doors to replace the single door opening.  I painted this cabinet a warm white and lightly sanded to distress.  I then waxed the cabinet.   The front doors are a glue chip.

This cabinet is 38 inches wide measuring from the widest (cabinet top), it is 14 inches deep and 65 1/2 inches at the tallest section.
$300.
All the hardware is original to the cabinet.

Another Cabinet Completed

I just completed this cabinet.  I really enjoyed this one.  She was very plain, so I added the relief on the drawer and the scrolled back.

Man, I have attempted to change the header on my blog and after 2 hours I am just giving up for now.  It can look a bit wonky for a couple of days.  I wish I had more time!  A bloggers lament.

Another Cabinet almost finished

This is another china cabinet turned storage.  I painted this cabinet a warm white with a shabby chic look.  Dan built the doors, but we haven't hung them yet.  Someone is interested in the cabinet, but not sure about doors.  I think they want it for a display unit in their gallery.

This is a before photo.  There was veneer missing in the front and some had to be re-glued.  The side panels are gone now and the whole piece has been sanded, primed, painted, sanded and waxed.

I love the simple lines of this cabinet.

She still has her original hardware

I sold a cabinet today, loaded it onto a truck and said good bye.  Things were getting a bit crowded in the house.  I confess that I still have 5 cabinets in the house, although 1 is sold!

I just completed this cabinet, or should I say Dan did.  Dan manufactures and hangs the new doors for me.

This cabinet is a soft yellow with stipple glass
