Getting Organized

I sold this repurposed window today. When I got this solid oak window frame it was in really bad shape.  It had screen stapled to the back...I don't think that it ever held glass as there were no grooves around the edges.  It is the perfect size for a chalk board/bulletin board combination.  A drawer cup holder is a perfect chalk holder.

I understand the new owner is really going to get organized!

Ready for Christmas

I found these two Santas in a second hand shop and could not resist.  One has a chip but the greenery hides this flaw; I just love a deal $1.50 for both!

They are now watching over us from high on top of the wardrobe/television cabinet.

Repurposed Cabinet

$300.
I just completed this china cabinet.  Once again we removed the side panels and made two doors to replace the single door opening.  I painted this cabinet a warm white and lightly sanded to distress.  I then waxed the cabinet.   The front doors are a glue chip.

This cabinet is 38 inches wide measuring from the widest (cabinet top), it is 14 inches deep and 65 1/2 inches at the tallest section.
$300.
All the hardware is original to the cabinet.

Tiny Cabinet Refinished

Shabby Chic Cabinet

I just completed this Gibbard 4 drawer cabinet.  The cabinet is 24 inches wide, 12 1/2 inches deep and 52 inches high.  This small storage unit would fit in a bathroom, hallway or bedroom.  It is such a pretty little cabinet.  The door has a handle and push latch.

Love the detail around the door.

Finished dresser desk

This is the completed dresser drawer set.  I painted it a soft grey green.  You can see the hole in the back that will allow easy access for electric and computer cords.

Isn't the hardward the greatest!

I sold this cabinet today to a young person just starting out.  She said that she was hunting for a couch but decided she wanted this cabinet more!  I really loved this cupboard.  It has such pretty carving on the front and the drawer pulls reminded me of drop ear rings.  It is a soft warm yellow (my favourite colour).  I hope that she enjoys it.

Another Cabinet Sold

I sold this cabinet today.  It was such a pretty little thing and I hope the new owner enjoys it.

I already have another china cabinet in my workshop that I have started to work on.  I only have two left in the basement; I better start looking for more, although I still have a buffet and some chairs to work on!

Another Cabinet Completed

I just completed this cabinet.  I really enjoyed this one.  She was very plain, so I added the relief on the drawer and the scrolled back.

Man, I have attempted to change the header on my blog and after 2 hours I am just giving up for now.  It can look a bit wonky for a couple of days.  I wish I had more time!  A bloggers lament.

Another Cabinet almost finished

This is another china cabinet turned storage.  I painted this cabinet a warm white with a shabby chic look.  Dan built the doors, but we haven't hung them yet.  Someone is interested in the cabinet, but not sure about doors.  I think they want it for a display unit in their gallery.

This is a before photo.  There was veneer missing in the front and some had to be re-glued.  The side panels are gone now and the whole piece has been sanded, primed, painted, sanded and waxed.

I love the simple lines of this cabinet.

She still has her original hardware
