Classic Dining Room Chairs

Before I begin to paint any piece of furniture, I sand it, re-glue, and prime.

I took a facebook poll and everyone voted for the grey/black stripe fabric.  I am very pleased with "the peoples choice"

These classically styled chairs are painted with Benjamin Moore Aura Semi-Lustre.  The set consists of one armchair and five dining room chairs.

I just love this "mid century modern" dresser.
This is a quality built Knechtel dresser made in Hanover Ontario.  The cabinet is all wood, no particle board to be found.  The drawer fronts are curved adding contrast to the straight lines of the body.   I painted the legs black to add interest.  The hardware echoes the curved shape of the drawers and straight lines of the frame.

This is a beautiful, timeless dresser.

$225.

Dining/Kitchen Chairs

I have almost completed these walnut chairs.  They are very, very solid; no wobblies here.  There are five basic chairs and an armchair.

I just have to find the perfect upholstery fabric...Stripes? Geometric?
It could be funky or traditional.

I just completed this little vanity.  I am so pleased with it.  I had painted it black but it was just too harsh for such a dainty piece.

This makeup table is 63 inches tall, 40 inches wide and 18 inches deep.  The mirror is in perfect condition with no scratches or bubbles.  The drawers are in very good condition and are 100% wood-no masonite here!

Details are accented with shading.  The original handles are a faux coral.  Don't you just love the bench with the funky fabric?

$275.

The Perfect Study Area!

Preparing for our Visitor

We are having an exchange student come to live with us later this summer.  We have to clean up the spare bedroom and make room for her.  Like most guest rooms, it is the place we store a lot of "stuff".

I bought this dresser as a fix up and sell project.  However, when I got it home I could see it's potential use as a dresser/desk for our exchange student.  It has three good sized drawers, and a built in desk!

Lots of storage space and perfect for a laptop

I just love the pulls!  My daughter thinks that they are soooo ugly but I think they are wonderful!  The pull on the desk is broke.

The bottom drawer was a huge mess.  The veneer was only attached in a few areas.  After gluing, sanding, work, work, work, I just tore it off.  The drawer front under the veneer was good wood.

Dan has drilled a hole in the back of the cubby section for wiring to be pulled through for a light or laptop.

I will post pictures of the completed project tonight!  I am so far behind, have lots of projects completed, but no time to sit on the computer!
