Tiny Cabinet Refinished

Shabby Chic Cabinet

I just completed this Gibbard 4 drawer cabinet.  The cabinet is 24 inches wide, 12 1/2 inches deep and 52 inches high.  This small storage unit would fit in a bathroom, hallway or bedroom.  It is such a pretty little cabinet.  The door has a handle and push latch.

Love the detail around the door.

Finished dresser desk

This is the completed dresser drawer set.  I painted it a soft grey green.  You can see the hole in the back that will allow easy access for electric and computer cords.

Isn't the hardward the greatest!

The Perfect Study Area!

Preparing for our Visitor

We are having an exchange student come to live with us later this summer.  We have to clean up the spare bedroom and make room for her.  Like most guest rooms, it is the place we store a lot of "stuff".

I bought this dresser as a fix up and sell project.  However, when I got it home I could see it's potential use as a dresser/desk for our exchange student.  It has three good sized drawers, and a built in desk!

Lots of storage space and perfect for a laptop

I just love the pulls!  My daughter thinks that they are soooo ugly but I think they are wonderful!  The pull on the desk is broke.

The bottom drawer was a huge mess.  The veneer was only attached in a few areas.  After gluing, sanding, work, work, work, I just tore it off.  The drawer front under the veneer was good wood.

Dan has drilled a hole in the back of the cubby section for wiring to be pulled through for a light or laptop.

I will post pictures of the completed project tonight!  I am so far behind, have lots of projects completed, but no time to sit on the computer!

Teawagon

This teawagon was in fairly good condition.  The finish was very worn with lots of varnish missing.  It took a lot of sanding.  The wheels were both in need of repair.

I really had trouble getting a smooth finish on the table top.  I sanded and sanded and then sanded some more.
I am very stubborn, and finally got the result I wanted.  I painted the drawer a soft yellow.
I added a small rose bouquet

Spring at last-We have a new neighbour

A new neighbour just moved in.

Dan built this birdhouse about 10 years ago.  It sits in the middle of our veggie garden.  Today a pair of bluebirds moved in.  They were busy all day moving grass into their new home.

Everyone was enjoying the first real warm day.  I am working, refinishing an old tool trunk.  It was in really rough condition.  I am sure it was used as a mechanics trunk at one time; there was a lot of oil residue.  Dan made a new cedar bottom.  That certainly improved the odor!  I will post pictures this week.

I have a bunch of completed projects that I have to get posted.

I  painted this chair a warm yellow.

I sold this cabinet today to a young person just starting out.  She said that she was hunting for a couch but decided she wanted this cabinet more!  I really loved this cupboard.  It has such pretty carving on the front and the drawer pulls reminded me of drop ear rings.  It is a soft warm yellow (my favourite colour).  I hope that she enjoys it.

Printing on Silk

I just completed my first attempt at printing on silk.  It was a lot of fun and turned out better than I thought it would.  Go to my "Projects" to see a step by step how to!
